Chinese Language Course: Brain twists

As we all know, sometimes, even some questions seem to be easy to answer, but it is not that easy to give the right answer. And that is what we all brain twists. If you are learning mandarin(學普通話),you might as well to learn some typical Chinese brain twists. It can be beneficial for your understanding of Chinese language and also it will bring a lot of fun during your studying it. So, let’s come to it now.
To raise the students’ interest in learning Chinese, there is a guessing game in a Chinese language course. And the topic today is Chinese brain twists. You need to think of the question in a abnormal way. Firstly, let’s come to a easy one “小明的爸爸有三个儿子, 大儿子叫一明, 二儿子叫二明, 三儿子叫什么?(xiao3 ming2 de5 ba4 ba5 you3 san1 ge4 zi5,da4 er2 zi5 jiao4 yi1 ming2, er24 er2 zi5 jiao4 er4 ming2, san1 er2 zi5 jiao4 shen2 me5)”.The question means “Xiaoming’s father has three sons, and the eldest  is called Daming; the second one is named Erming, so what is the youngest son’s name?” Upon hearing the question, many students give a quick response and said “三明(san1 ming2)”. However, the Chinese teacher shook her head. So it is not that simple but if you change your mind and think of it in another way, you will find you are too careless of the question. Generally, we count “一明(yi1 ming2)”, “二明(er4 ming2)” and then “三明(san1 ming2)”. Now, let’s read the question again. Obviously, we say “小明”’s father has three. Naturally the youngest son is “小明”. So the answer is “小明”.
There is a brain twist concerning Chinese character learning. That is “一群狼中为什么有一只羊?(yi4 qun2 lang2 zhong1 wei4 shen2 me5 you3 yi4 zhi1 yang2)” I’ll give you a hint. The answer is relevant to the character “”. Have you got the answer?
